this is an interesting little tidbit in the Huffpo article as regards the quality of Axios' sources:
Earlier this week, Axios reported that Trump continued to harbor resentment against Sessions over the decision.

AA this is nuts?
No kidding! Far more nuts than ever before. It's particularly extra special nuts. BECAUSE: if you're a Trump fan, you're scratching your head, going: but I thought they were the fake news. This is different from "off the record" and short phone calls with Maggie Haberman, they wouldn't hear about that or pay much attention, they are watching Fox. But this is a full interview they are talking about on Fox.
Like Barefooted's comment implies, he just continually boggles rational minds! What is the reason for this interview?!! I can't believe I am saying this, because yes, it's nuts, it's insane, but I can't see any other reason beyond he has decided to try to win over some people who read the Times???!!!! He wants their approval? And what he says in this interview is how he's going to get it?!!! And at this late date? After all the other things he's done and said as president?
Just so delusional, craving approval to a point way past insanity.
Someone puhleez come up with a better explanation.....

Trump supporters reading the interview? You've got to be kidding. All they'll know about it is what fox news, Limbaugh, and less well know Limbaugh like radio hosts tell them he said. Theyl'll find a way to spin it

Not to mention, they also published this an hour before, from docs they got directly:
