Members said it was important to formally condemn hate groups, but some privately scoffed that Republicans felt it was even necessary.

[....] The resolution, sponsored by RNC member Bill Palatucci of New Jersey, states that “the racist beliefs of Nazis, the KKK, white supremacists and other like-minded groups are completely inconsistent with the Republican Party’s platform,” and that “the view that the color of one’s skin determines or should determine one’s standing, rights, opportunities, or duties to others is not consistent with the philosophy of the Republican Party.”
It adds: “The racist beliefs of the Nazis, the KKK, white supremacists and others are repulsive, evil, and have no fruitful place in the United States.” [....]

I think it's interesting that by feeling they have to do this, they are not wholly buying into recent Bannon trolling-for-racial-outrage theory, as in his Prospect interview:

Oy! BREAKING! But it may be neverending work for the RNC keeping up with the troll-in-chief:

Heard Douglas Brinkley on CNN "Sucks" Network right now: suggests it;s kind of unseemly to pull a Friday night Arpaio political news dump at the same time major #4 Hurricane is landing in Texas and people may be dying. Brinkley moving on to talking a little history ala "heckuva Job Brownie" and LBJ, summed it up saying hopes the president starts actually presidential instead of acting like a political hack.

truly no one could make this presidency up and make it believable!
11 pm on a Friday in late August, remember when that meant that most reporters could be on vacation and CNN would be running shark stories?

More! Confirming he fired Gorka! White House making an "unattributed statement" that he's been fired while on vacation, did not resign
Sebastian Gorka Is Forced Out as White House Adviser, Officials Say

Only Maggie @ NYT appears to have gotten this mysterious White House message that Gorka was fired. WaPo has that he resigned the last I looked.
I just looked at Breitbart and they are, of course, bold headlining the Gorka "resigned" story over everything else, like this:
And I am not ready to be 100% dismissive of their spin on it without thinking through everything that happened through the day and evening politicallly. Too much to analyze well. Most probably just once again trying to analyze a narcississtic nut case, but you can't be sure.

on Gorka "pushed out, did not resign" that came from "two administration officials," and they told that to Chris Cilizza @ CNN as well as Maggie Haberman @ NYTimes:

Breitbart is going all out batshit crazed war with the Gorka thing. This was their headline story last night:

The Fix: Trump’s flagrant Friday night news dump,

He's still in charge of emergency teams at Camp David this important Texas weekend - helping the KKK iron its sheets, tweeting new racist diatribes in Hungarian inflected anti-semitism, learning how to say "go fuck yourselves" in his Spanish class while burnishing his masonry skills for that new Wall... Heckuva job, Whitey.
Good time to wonder if Russians hacked machines in Hispanic districts or if there were really that many stupid people to give a flagrant anti-Hispanic their vote.

It really is a heckuva job when you think of it, almost as if he's on uppers. Remember Taz from Looney Tunes?

Remember? I even hiked through Tasmania trying to find him. Alas, only a few joeys and a feral cat that ate my food up in a tree.
