The Bishop and the Butterfly: Murder, Politics, and the End of the Jazz Age

    For aficionados of dark humor

Check out some of the tweeted replies to the U.S. Army's new twitter campaign:

    How has serving impacted you?

I found it because this one reply was retweeted by the great veteran NYTimes reporter C.J. Chivers.

Ouch. Yes, dark. (this one was an easy grab - a lot more)

Didn’t serve but 1 buddy wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. Another has to run a fundraiser every year cause he lost his legs.

how does he do that if he lost his legs?

PP, they obviously got more than one marketing plan up their brassed sleeves:

West Point is about to graduate its largest class of black women @ CNN.com

similar video @ ABC.com, on You Tube and many other places. Check out the second shot of the ladies, it's *just like* being on the hip college drill team?:

It's 2019 - shouldn't we be running this as "Democrats Got Talent"/"Democratic Idol" rather than a stodgy overcrowded version of 1960 Nixon v JFK?

Dem voters can select the winners of each round & matchup (oh sorry, we have to give preference to Independents cuz they rule our world)

They can even perform special skills - skateboarding, stop-and-frisk, fence-sitting on issues, support of 3rd world authoritarians, waffling (can get Martha & Snoop to host this episode), et al

Seriously! As one cannot have a "debate" between 20 people, why even pretend? Just give them each a few minutes on stage to present their "act", like with the talent shows. (Need it be said: no swimsuit competition.)

A random drawing, which was closed to the press but attended by campaign officials, took place at NBC's 30 Rock offices in New York and looked to randomly divide the lineup for both debate nights between the candidates polling above and below 2%.

    • June 26: Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Bill de Blasio, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O'Rourke, Tim Ryan, and Elizabeth Warren
    • June 27: Michael Bennet, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, John Hickenlooper, Bernie Sanders, Eric Swalwell, Marianne Williamson, and Andrew Yang
