    Complications in deportation efforts ensue when parents are illegal immigrants but their children are birthright citizens. Federal appellate courts have upheld the refusal by the Immigration and Naturalization Service to stay the deportation of illegal immigrants merely on the grounds that they have U.S.-citizen, minor children.[66] There are some 3.1 million United States citizen children with at least one illegal immigrant parent as of 2005; At least 13,000 American children had one or both parents deported in the years 2005-2007.[WIKI


    Let us just examine the section of the United States Constitution that discusses citizenship:

    14. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

    I am an American Citizen. I have taken no tests in order to become a citizen.  I needed a birth certificate. Both parents are listed on said certificate. But that was not necessary. I was not really present during the miracle of my birth, at least consciously.

    The Constitution does not direct the type of records for proof of birth that qualifies one to be a citizen. The State keeps the records according to the State's laws. There are Federal Laws mandating that certain data  should be included in these records and certainly directs that certain governmental officials be notified of such births.

    The State of Hawaii decides what its birth certificates look like and how a member of the public may acquire a certified copy. If you are upset about Hawaii's 'short form', go to Hawaii and protest. Oh well.

    In order to change the definition of citizenship contained in the 14th Amendment, you would need a Constitutional Amendment. I suppose the Amendment might look something like this:

    All born of parents who were rightfully here from conception and who did not have unnatural types of sex that resulted in conception of the subject person and who speak English as their primary language and who are legally present inside the boundaries of the United States and who consulted a minister of the Christian Faith prior to 'doing it'; are citizens of the United States of America. The remaining people born here shall be considered serfs and upon their discovery shall be transported to gulags maintained by privately owned corporations in Arizona.

    The next time someone tells you that there is no reason to grant citizenship to someone born in this country, please, please, please recite the first paragraph of the 14th Amendment. The 14th Amendment is the only Constitutional provision incorporating the promises made on July 4th, 1776.

    I thought it was clear. I mean it says all persons born in the United States are citizens.

    But I thought it clear that the first two chapters Genesis were fables, metaphors. That no one except William Jennings Bryan or mentally handicapped people thought that the earth was only 6,000 years old. 

    I thought it clear that Iraq had nothing to do with the attack upon our nation on 9/11/01.

    I thought it clear that a large majority of Americans wished to keep the Social Security Act of 1935 in full force and effect;  and to not disturb its current place in America as one program that works.

    I thought it clear that Corporations are fictional constructs used to collect investment capital and generate profits to the individual investors. All persons in the 14th Amendment, refers to people, not fictional constructs. Are corporations born in the United States?  If  corporations are born elsewhere, to they have the right to become naturalized?

    I thought it clear that Management could not take 100% or more of the profits of a corporation claiming them as salary and bonuses to the detriment of the shareholders.  If there were no profits for a fiscal year, I thought it would be a Class A felony for management to increase a corporation's loss by awarding itself huge salaries and bonuses.

    I thought it clear that openly advocating the assassination of the President of the United States was illegal.

    The Fox Nation linked to an article reporting on how "Republican lawmakers in Congress are sponsoring a bill that seeks to abolish birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to illegal immigrant parents" using the headline, "GOP Targets 'Anchor Babies.'" Several media outlets have identified the term "anchor babies" as, in the words of the Rocky Mountain News, "derogatory, even racist, because it implies that Hispanics are having children as a way to stay in the U.S."  http://mediamatters.org/research/201002170038

    I would hope that this 'bill' is a bill proposing that the United States Constitution be amended; because this bill would surely be held unconstitutional by any sane Supreme Court.

    There I go again. We do not have a sane Supreme Court.

    Does this greeting apply only to those immigrants arriving over the Atlantic and headed for Ellis Island and not those arriving in Brownsville? Republicans are supposed to be for babies, are they not? The more babies the better.

    Sometimes there are contradictions in our philosophies, whatever they may be. For instance, there is an easy way to get rid of 'anchor babies'.

    Every one of them, all them foreigners on American soil with week end passes and stuff, not only could be awarded free abortions, but they could receive a free Sealy Posturepedic mattress. (delivery not included-I mean delivery is kind of the subject here anyway) by complying with the new law.

    Of course the chicken shite way of solving the problem may be what the repubs have proposed all along with the permission of many dems:  Ensure that pregnant immigrants have no access to health care, whatsoever.  I mean that might abort a lot of fetuses, and the repubs will feel less icky about it all.
