    Beautiful Timing: Front Pager Tying McCain Home History To Carpet-Bagging History

    I was very pleased to pick the paper out of my cactus (missed the driveway again, guys) and see the above-the-fold headline:  "Tempe homeowners:  John McCain slept here".  Great timing, thought I. 

    For those who don't want to click on the link, the story is about a home (near my work) that Cindy purchased back in the 80's so that John could run in the Phx-area district where a House seat was opening up - Minority Leader John Rhodes was retiring. 

    Only thing that the reporter misses in his story is that he cites the property records as "conclusive evidence" that McCain did sleep there;  however, it does NOT prove that - only that his new family OWNED it. 

    McCain was criticized as a carpet-bagger when he first ran for the House, and again when he first ran for the Senate.  This story is a good reminder of his opportunism, and fits nicely with the homes gaffe.

    (By the way, I'd really love to see Obama - and all of us - move on from the homes gaffe and declare a desire to stick to the real issues.  But, I couldn't pass up passing this article on.)
