Can there be any doubt that we simply can't govern by super-majority any longer?
I damn near spat out my coffee recently when I heard a Repub Senator complain about the "Attack on Christmas" by saying making them work in December "showed a disrespect for the institution of the Senate." SweetJeezus! The hypocrisy embraced in that statement is too hard to swallow.
This nonsense has got to stop.
This "55 ayes/41 noes" failure to even get to a debate in the Senate shows once again the need to alter the rules of the Senate to preserve its ability to work around those who would so willfully thwart democracy itself.
