0f course not,
but a Progressive guy can dream can he?
A WSJ article today reports that Elizabeth Warren is looking for a Bureau Chief for Obama to send up to the Hill. For once wouldn't we like to see a working class upstart with street smarts and the ability to stare down the opposition go into the confirmation hearings and sell the country on why financial reform is self-evident and urgent? In otherwords a person with the opposite image of a Timothy Geithner?
The article suggests that a prime consideration of the nominee be someone who can be confirmed by Republicans. That's B.S. What we need is a spokesperson, one who can call out Republicans and their bank masters and sell the country on financial reform.
The article states, "Without a Senate confirmed director, the agency wouldn't be able to issue certain new rules on lending." I don't know the truth of that statement and am going to research it. However, the political theatre of having an honest to God consumer advocate making the case on the Hill while the agency is being structured in the background seems plausible to me. The rule making Head and the enforcement head have already been selected and funding begins in July. Why not have a knock down drag out in the confirmation hearings?
Tom Miller was suggested as a nominee and I will attempt to embed a YouTube video of this Iowa State Attorney General and maybe you'd like to comment. What? He goes in with the Geithner syndrome--a possibly illegal campaign loan from one of his subordinates. Great.

Disclaimer: Noithing here is meant to imply a gender preference. Just can't think of an opposite gender Russell Crowe type.
As for Elizabeth Warren, why does it appear she will not be the nominee?

That'll be $4.99, please. Don't take this to mean I care for Russell Crowe, though, okay?

Collateralize it with some other debts you know you'll default on, then sell the bundle to Oxy Mora and Russell Crowe!
