President Trump’s personal intervention, described by people with knowledge of the deliberations, is part of a series of actions that some advisers fear could place him and some members of his inner circle in legal jeopardy as Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III continues his probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Comment: jobs, jobs, jobs! Trumpco is definitely creating them! look at how many reporters it takes to handle the leakers regarding all things Trump! Before the ink is dry on Kelly's firing the The Mooch, four more reporters at WaPo are working on this. And at NYTimes, Politico, The Hill, HuffPo, Atlantic, TPM, New Yorker, New York, Slate, Salon, Axios, Vox, BuzzFeed, Daily Beast......there's more jobs being created to summarize and link to the WaPo story. Then there's the right wing spinners jobs at all the right wing sites. And production aides scouting down elaboration and writing scripts for all the TV news shows....

Arty... So far... It's not against any law, per se . . .
At least in this instance. So far he's only misled, or caused to mislead the public through the use of the press. Not against the law.
Although, it could have probative value as an additional brick in an ongoing investigation to help establish obstruction charges within the overall investigation.

This is interesting and I am pretty sure he will be accused, pursued and prosecuted along those lines.
As to the general public getting all upset about it, though, I keep thinking: dad helping the boy with his homework, what's the big deal?
Hence: nepotism: it's a big deal, because: makes people think differently.
