Julian Assange feels that the Libertarian wing of the GOP is the only hope for America. This is not because of their stance on drones and surveillance. Assange supports their views on taxes. Assange supports restrictions on abortion.The newly active Wikileaks political group supports the fascists over the Greens in Australia. This seems ominous.

This comes as no surprise. Techno-libertarian does have libertarian in it. I believe we're in for a huge fight on the left about whether or not the government can be trusted with its new powers. It should come as no surprise that some of us who take the negative on that will find themselves with strange bedfellows. That said, plenty of Bush-supporting Republicans also support Obama's use of government surveillance powers.
