To me, John McCain epitomizes the complexity in most of us. Neither all bad nor all good, he appears to be a fundamentally decent man. We on the left need to remember that those who disagree with us are not invariably corrupt amoral souls or unregenerate racists and sexists. Yes some are. But assuming the worst in individuals with different political views is not only unfair but also likely makes it tougher for us to achieve laudable goals. http://www.salon.com/2017/09/25/john-mccain-says-his-cancer-prognosis-is...

I do not disagree with your assessment.
His votes over the past decades grieve me much.
But damn! He is a gooooooooood man, much better than I have ever been.
Oh and just as a note HSG, you figured out that a link must be created on this site.

I caught the 60 Minutes interview that this came from last night, it is not long and is well worth a watch:

It's not political, it's personal.
It's actually quite inspirational (especially if you are depressed or feeling blue about your problems) however he has affected one in the past as regards his past lives, he is now how we should all hope to look upon old age and death. He just radiates gratitude for being alive, there is not a smidgen of him feeling sorry for himself, he's just very humble about it. He also must have the stamina of an ox, as he goes for both radiation and chemo in the morning and then is working a full day after that, clearly he loves the work he is doing now so much. It's almost weird because he is beaming like a newlywed and is very very calm and seems very happy.

Yeah AA, I caught that segment on 60 Minutes.
God Bless him and God Bless America.
McCain is a good man.
I just cannot seem to agree with him on much.
But he has touched me much.

Hi Dick... my friend from afar...
Every morning I always remember that while we're
here on Mother Earth and even when it's all over...
Peace prevails out in the universe.
