Families of the 16 children and teacher killed in the Dunblane massacre 22 years ago today send a message to survivors of last month’s Parkland school shooting in Florida, who are planning a protest to push for US gun law reform. The Dunblane shooting led the UK to bring in some of the strictest firearms legislation in the world, outlawing private ownership of most handguns. Almost overnight, 200,000 gun owners had their weapons banned, a law which was enforced with heavy fines and up to 10 years in prison

Very interesting walkback of a classic Limbaugh type attack on libruls to a "civil discourse" position, he's a NRA supporter from Maine that attacked Emma Gonzales:

I just have a feeling about these kids and the whole situation that they can cause some change, maybe not so much gun laws unfortunately. Because: they are the new "kids next door", they are the boomers' kids, this is what they are like even if their parents are conservatives, they know them as human beings. Pick on the kids with personal attacks and you could be real sorry.

They haven't been taught to be civil, and being shot at kills niceities. These assholes have been weaned on civil press covering nicely for their bullshit. As soon as kids realuze they have teeth, it's gonna be shark day on the Great Barrier Reef. And I'll be cheering " more chum, more chum".

Strikes me this is the good side of social media: Teen goes viral after posting about being the only student at his school to walk out.
(Boy, I can only imagine if we had it back in '69, high school woulda been really really different, we handful in a school of 2,500 published two issues of an alternative newspaper before the principal shut us down)
