A highly original documentary project reveals how a couple of Beverly Hills billionaires “are willing to risk war in Iran and the Middle East — all in order to boost and protect their lucrative pistachio business.”

There is more of importance in this report than what is indicated by the title. An example is demonstrated in the first internal link which gives a clue to the thinking of some as to how their confidence in the US military leads them to advocate for militaristic solutions to damn near any international problem. They are willing and often anxious to sell their adventures with a campaign based on lies if that is necessary to sell the adventure.
Water is an absolutely vital resource. Previous reports I have seen claim that pistachios are extreme water users. When water runs short it is vital that it be distributed in ways that make sense to the maintenance of vital productivity. Pistachios are not vital to anything but the wealth of a few. California water wars make a fascinating and complicated story.

Lu, i agree that California has complicated water problems but you shouldn't diss pistachios just because a rich family invested in and produces this wonderful and nutritious nut. Not so rich farmers also grow this crop some here in NM. If there was a pistachio war we already won it and it's unlikely we will bomb Iran to protect our growers. The claim that Iranian nuts are superior to US nuts sounds almost like a Death To American Nuts chant . The Iranian nuts I've seen were small somewhat shriveled and had to be dyed red because they were abused while exceptional American nuts are large, robust, meaty and far more attractive. The Iranians also abuse some of their fruits hanging some of them to strangle at the end of crane cables unless they submit to having their nuts cut off.

In this response I am choosing to accept the irony of saying: Your comment is not worth responding to.

Lu, it's a shame you were so easily struck dumb by my Iranic comment. No one else seems interested in joining you in praising the Supreme Leader's shriveled nuts and it is ironic that some people compare you to me to shut you up.

There's no comparison between lulu and you. People critique the content of lulu's many links. That's what we do here. People complain that you never add a link to support your opinions. While discussions with lulu can get heated due to our disagreements he almost never insults anyone. The largest part of your commentary here is insults.

Peter, when I saw this, I immediately thought of you:

Good one, Art. When I see these kind of diversions I recall when Operation Mockingbird was exposed. My speculation about when Cohen was flipped was just about timing and his earlier actions for we know he is conspiring with Mueller now. Another strange bit of information was reported yesterday that Cohen was meeting with Stefan Halper during the campaign. Government records show that this guy ws paid $1 million to be an informant/stooge and his connection to the Company is also known not a theory.
So long as the mouthpieces in the media continue to use the term collusion, which isn't a crime or even misdemeanor my faith is intact.

The only person using collusion is Trump. Other people are talking about things like obstruction. You repeated prove my point about Trump supporters.
Edit to add:
The GOP is racist because they elected a Birther. They gassed and kidnapped black and brown infants and children. They suppress black votes. They are staging legislative coups in multiple states. Trump is attempting to obstruct justice. The decent people have fled the party. All that is left are the deplorables.
2nd Edit to add:
Not only is Tucker Carlson calling Trump inept, now Rex Tillerson says Trump had to be told what actions were illegal

Dog whistles are all the GOP has. They have to cheat to stay in power and they are willing to have a nut job in charge of the country.

I have been listening to the audio version of Cadillac Desert which a friend from California has recommended for years. A general interest in history and politics and power and the driving forces during our country's westward expansion and continuing thru today is enough to make this a fascinating read or listen. It is a very good telling of a very important story; water in the West.
