Not expecting total agreement by anyone [I don't] or any agreement by some, but I find this periodic column to be quite interesting, often funny. There are two links among many within the article that I find particularly worth reading. For those interested in our international affairs as have been discussed here at dag they are repeated here and here.

Yeah, I set it up to block hack Putin apologist / anti-Kiev paranoia postings, but you foiled me again by just putting it in the comments. Dastardly.

Hang in there, don't give up on your project now. Not getting the result you expected in this case, and one which you hoped your program would verify, is no proof that your program failed. That is yet to be proven. It might work perfectly if a commenter such as you characterized actually comes along. How does your program deal with pictures of thousands of armed tiki torch carrying, Nazi symbol wearing, hateful antisemitic slogan screaming, skinhead goon marchers who were the attack dogs of a recent anti-democratic coup? Mark as paranoid anyone who noticed and thought they indicated something significant? That algorithm might need a bit of tweeking to get it right.

Huh? I was just trying to keep out *you* - I like Tiki torches, used to go to Pier 21 a lot for the incense smell. Anyway, prolly the only one tweaking is me...

If it doesn't fully post the first time simply edit what does post. That always works for me. (clearly PP isn't smart enough to set up his censorship routines for edits )

Harumph. How's the Wall looking down there, desert-border dude? (Not trying to change the subject or anything...)

And here's a couple of mega threads parodying decades of the ideological kind of journalism you prefer
(Edit to add: here is Wikipedia on Michael Weiss.)
