This morning at approximately 11:00 AM, participants observed four law enforcement officers in SWAT gear arriving at McKeldin Square. The officers marked four locations in orange spray paint on the curb: A, B, C, and D. It is unclear what the officers' affiliation was or what their intentions were. Officers were also seen observing the pedestrian bridges that cross Light St and link the park to the nearby malls and office buildings. The four locations marked with spray paint on Light St south of Pratt, the corner of Light and Pratt, the corner of Pratt and Calvert, and Calvert St south of Pratt.
The officers quickly performed their duties and left before participants could speak to them, and participants are unsure if the officers planned their actions as a scare tactic, an implicit threat of dispersal, or something else entirely.
