Another one bites the dust.

No no warning, no explanation. With previous fenestrations, there have been weeks of leaks and bitter tweets before the coup de grace. Weird.
People are tweeting about how it happened the day after Tillerson publicly blamed Russia for the assassination attempt in the UK. If that's the reason, it's scary as hell. How far into Putin's butt has Trump burrowed?

He was always the Manchurian candidate - why such a surprise now? Criticism of Putin has never been allowed.

President Trump announced on Tuesday that he had ousted Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson and intended to replaced him with Mike Pompeo, the C.I.A. director.

Sorry, Rex. You're a nice person. I respect your intellect, and we get along great. There's just no chemistry, you know? Not like Mike, I just really click with him. You have to admit, it's better for both of us this way. I'm sure you'll find someone else really special!
That's why I'm publicly dumping you on Twitter with no warning after a year-long relationship. Have a nice life! MAGA!!!

My money's on McMaster

I ran across this real interesting related March 4 piece in the wee hours last night; the LATimes' White House guy reporting that Mattis was Tillerson's partner in throttling Trump's desires, that they worked in tandem to "slow roll" Trump's requests for other options on the big issues, meanwhile the supposed genius-in-chief manager would blame McMaster! Hah!

on CNN TV, they just said Tillerson is going to speak in about 15 mins.,from State, they showed the stage.

he's on now, shocked me that he made it a point to mention he hoped dealing with problems of sexual harassment @ State would continue! Very professional so far, and very respectful and caring of the department "troops", I am impressed, humble and thankful, quite different from the depiction of him in much media and from the many who left in disgust. Makes me wonder how much of the chaos there was due to Trump admin pressure.

I'm waiting for the one of these scorned officials to drop the pretense of normalcy and go Howard Beale on Trump and his insane administration. But who will it be?

The full 8:08 minute video of his statement @ CNBC, and I do recommend a watch to get the tone.

Clearly Trump doesn't give a shit about governing with the GOP:
Trump stuns Capitol Hill with Tillerson firing
GOP leaders will now have to wrestle Trump’s nominees through a polarized Senate, rather than focus on their own priorities.

Oh, please. They were "stunned"? Was anyone here stunned? If the GOP leaders were, they have been paying even less attention than I thought possible. At best, the timing mildly surprised them.

OIC now, Bharara was much more blatant on the same theme yesterday:
