My eldest child, 37 years old, has decided that Titus Andromedon is his new spirit animal. (It's an Indian thing.) I was hoping it would remain an elk.

Hah, doesn't that say it all about the major generation gap thing we've got building right now. Yesterday I watched a Financial Times slide show about the Millennial generation worldwide and I was shocked to see that they put people his age on the cusp of it. So it seems like he's finally decided what side of the cusp he is on.
And yeah, this is getting at why I posted the article, it's like David Bowie is ancient history--1980's--and it was real hard work to figure out what his whole shtick was and within what context..
Edit to add: I am reminded of my GenX brother (the surprise "baby," all 4 of his siblings are boomers) shocking me by complaining to me recently that "even the oldies stations aren't old enough for my taste."

Yeah, well, Bowie's gone, Mick's turned 75. I've aleays recreated my musical tastes every 10 years, and ain't stopping now. Lately I've been asking myself, "when people get to heaven, does God ask them if they know any Oasis?" I think not. Burn it down, build it again.

Righteous - try out the Peter Bjorn and John track, along w Franz Ferdinand. The Gwen Stefani album Angel Music Baby is totally solid (have posted several tracks from it here). Not much on the U2 or last Bowie, but the Johnny Cas track was worthy. Outkast/Hey Ya feels like it's been playing gor 40 years now. I can't listen to Put a Ring on it w/o thinking of Michell and car karaoke. Lots of other stuff to give a listen to.

Yes, thank you ArtA. I would enjoy the hell out of this, unfortunately, here on the "Fresh Coast" this kind of film experience is too rare a bird. Although, it is not entirely unheard of for one or two of the Native American cultural centers to put forth something like this. I will be on the lookout.
