John Dowd Resigns as Trump’s Lead Lawyer in Special Counsel Inquiry

John Dowd’s departure is the latest change among Mr. Trump’s legal team as the president has begun directly attacking the special counsel in public.

[.....] The president was said to be pleased with Mr. Dowd’s resignation, as he had grown frustrated with him, particularly over the weekend when Mr. Dowd called on the Justice Department to end the special counsel investigation. Mr. Dowd, who had forged relationships with the special counsel’s office, said at first that he was speaking for the president, but later backtracked.

The president was angered with Mr. Dowd’s handling of the episode, telling people it was ham-handed and Mr. Dowd should not have backed off his initial statement. Mr. Dowd, a former Marine Corps captain, has told people that the president has recently implored him to stay but was said to be considering quitting on Monday, which he denied in an interview that night [....]

I've been accused a time or two ... but I also tend to be a realist, which means (to me, at least) measuring just how heavy the glass is, how much it holds, whether it's filled with fluid or solid weight and who's doing the measuring. Kinda like baking - I wait for the flour to settle on the counter before I start cleaning up the mess. ;-)

Trump? Like I said, he's creating one helluva cloud; maybe we should let him burst.

Events: Heavy gunfire is occuring around the area of the U.S. Embassy and residential compounds adjacent to the Trutier area of Tabarre. All Embassy personnel have been instructed to remain indoors and shelter-in-place until further notice. All others should avoid the area.

Actions to take:

Avoid the area;

Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;

Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and

If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
