Interview by Joanna Walters in New York for TheGuardian.com, May 6
Michael Avenatti tells the Guardian a ‘significant amount of evidence is going to come to light’ – and says the American public will be ‘disgusted’ by it
Really upping the ante here. I think: confidence in the extreme, wouldn't his rep be hurt significantly if proved wrong?
Comments
What Avenatti is saying (via Palmer) is that he's using media against Trump to keep the pressure on, and so he's winning. It's worth thinking about Trump as a media animal that can only be tackled that way. Certainly law enforcement hasn't been successful all these years, and on the media side he's been a kookish gloater doing crazy things that improve ratings. Avenatti's the first who's been able to share some of the oxygen. Part is the strength of his case, part is his willingness to wade into the weeds and mix it up. Worth thinking about how he messages going forward. Is it something Dems can learn from overall? (as this is also cutting through Fox and MSNBC at the same time)

His tweet that set the world on fire this afternoon is a perfect example - the more we learn about Cohen receiving money from a Russian oligarch the more we realize that Mueller's already been looking into it, so it's not new except to the public. Yet Avenatti not only decided to break it himself, he chose to do it mere hours after Trump's grand Iran announcement, effectively stealing his thunder. A Trumpian move if ever there was one ... checkmate.
Now the real question: where's he getting his info and why?

The Supreme Court trumps any longstanding DoJ policy. If they see the 2 other branches egging an untenable situatiin on, they may be do ced to act.

OKAY! Way to go, good to know I wasn't falling for a bullshit artist! He's a braggart that delivers!
by artappraiser on Tue, 05/08/2018 - 10:30pm
Oh, he's most definitely a bullshit artist, but he can back it up - which puts him head and shoulders above the Trump crew.
eta: WaPo's finally decided it's safe to report ...

WaPo's Philip Bump also did this "explainer": How money flowed through Michael Cohen’s multi-purpose shell company
includes this chart, also talks about the Russian, sums up It’s clear from the reported transactions that there was more money flowing into the Essential Consultants account than has been revealed. (At the time Cohen withdrew the $1 million, the account hadn’t yet received the $750,000 paid by AT&T, Novartis and Korea Aerospace.) Meaning that if Avenatti’s representation is accurate, the graphic above is still incomplete
