looks like pollster Frank Luntz is thinking about this topic and wondering where the passions currently are:
I see why. Reactions to this case simplifies complex reactions about race present in other "Black Lives Matter" cases because of the "in his own apartment" part. Theoretically, some right wingers on guns should be passionately outraged about this, it actually synchs with libertarian "stand your ground" sympathies.

The results of the study or chilling. White Republicans are becoming more racist. There is nothing blacks can do to prevent racial resentment. Blacks are rightly concerned about their safety.
The NRA’s response to the Dallas shooting has been that the murdered man should have been armed.
