What I don't get about bragging about that is that I doubt it has much impact on results, if they actually caused it, that is. I also suspect a lot of those who didn't show up to vote realize the same thing - that it's not going to make a difference and they are too busy for the rigamarole. As it says, it's already 80% Dem. The only thing I can think of is that he's bragging to impress a base that dislikes urban ghetto culture that they try to disenfranchise them whether it matters or not (and once again, reality is it matters very little.)

p.s. what smart Dems would be worried about instead is whites and non-ghetto people of color in surrounding sympathetic exurban/suburban areas switching their usual vote from Dem. to Rep. because of things like riots in Wauwatosa and Kenosha or moving down white people in a parade.
A lot of similarities to Long Island in NY. If there are signs of urban problems encroaching, they'll switch to voting GOP. They or their parents worked hard to move away from "the ghetto" for good schools, safety, etc. and they don't want it folllowing them there. "The ghetto" on the other hand, votes the same as it always did, whether high turnout or low.

Jamaal Bowman of 'The Squad' spins the latest DeSantis culture warring against CRT as racist:
To be fair, a lot of MSM are doing that as well.
And that leaves everyone scratching their head about "what's wrong with Floridians?" There's nothing wrong, they know that DeSantis actions are being spun as evil, based on exaggerations that aren't true. Which leaves them mistrustful of outside liberals and even more trusting of DeSantis. TOTALLY COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.

I don't think AP AfricanAmerican studies is quite needed in high school as much as World History, Psychology, Data Science, Project Management, basic computer office training, and other critical modern skills. Video production/presentations/marketing communications becoming more and more important for getting the message out in our social media world.
Once upon a time we had hobbies for stuff we were interested in, so i could read about Blondie in NY in fanzines if I wanted to, or imbibe French existentialism or the (then) latest musings about Artificial Intelligence, or a book by Abbie Hoffman or the then popular "Diary of a Killer" and "The Happy Hooker_ (no, the weren't in the library, nor was Trots & Bonnie).
Its a bit weird that we know state school boards are conservative and have their own agendas, yet we want to push more into the school system. There are 4 major online learning sites plus now many universities have their own courses - some for credit. So i start to get pissed off at all this microaggression politics cuz Jane can't study AP LGBTQ history & discrimination in colonial times. Get a fucking life, people - there's a huge number of blacks who can't read at grade level, much less math* to go on to professional science & engineering degrees. That's it's own kind of mental slavery, dig? (not nearly as bad as forced labor and restricted movement, granted, but then again limits people to crappy jobs and limited possibilities to travel except those junkets to the Caribbean to keep the American rubes' noses to grindstone the other 50 dismal weeks a year - if they can even find that much work)
*Again, math like statistics, Bayesian analysis, probability, formal logic and algebra are probably much more useful math studies for the majority than the more common Trig & Calculus we like to have as our holy grail.

I think Yglesias is just being facetious and knows this is all just bullshit so they can look like they're being tough anti-goverment spending to their rightwing activist base. When in reality they don't just not care but are just as beholden to spending for their special interests as most Dems are. Except for the Freedom Caucus people, and that's why the Freedom Caucus people hate the establishment GOP so much, they know they are hypocrital bullshitters about this

Good to point out. For whatever reason. I would note that Ron Desantis as their new Governor isn't holding them back, nor is the presence of Mar-a- lago. The tax situation is certainly a bonus to some:
