I'm a bit of a stickler about legalities - if your full name "Richard" is on your plea deal and you sign it "Ricky", does it still count?

Fits! Internet version of a low level Mafia wiseguy who's seen it all. You know, Ricky the Pin. See below.

Rachel Maddow just now made it clear to me, without saying straight out, that this guy got reduced punishment on nefarious stolen bank account biz in trade for helping out Mueller. Simply because he unknowingly ended up doing biz with some Russians Mueller wanted to know more about. Sometimes pays to do business with only the best?

How many bank accounts? Could they be used to make untraced small dollar contributions for less favored candidates?

According to this new NYTimes piece by Nicholas Fandos on the Pinero topic, it is probably not anything like what you are thinking of. just 14 bank accounts used to open Pay Pal accounts which were used to purchase things like Facebook ads. No big money laundering ops here; If there was something like that going on, Mueller is not mentioning it this time around:
Obviously, Pinero's info. helped them verify identity.

I understand that's not what Mueller is saying, but with hacking voter rolls and gaining access to US bank accounts, 1 PayPal account can make 10,000 untracked $27 donations without any noticing. (especially if they're predisposed not to notice). Thay doesn't prove it happened, but today's news takes us 1 step closer to my hunch. (I'm also not denying there was plenty of sincere support, but especially those initial May and June 2015 months when fundraising for an unknown just announced took off like a tsunami, I'm quite skeptical.)
