Can't say we didn't see this coming.
But think just how irrelevant Washington has become in the face of the worst recession in recent history. We want jobs. They provide months and months of really cheezy theater. There's gotta be a better way. Occupy Wall Street.
(NOTE OF ASSURANCE: No lobbyists were harmed in these actions taken in Washington.)

I remember reading a few months back lobbyists were busy crunching the numbers. Armed with a baseline value of 50% reduction in the DoD budget, if the Super Committee (SC) came up with a number greater, they would lobby enough congress critters to make sure the SC budget would go down in defeat in Congress. To me, all this says is they are finessing their position ... the SC budget will go down if the numbers are over the baseline and Congress isn't allowed to make changes to keep the DoD budget porked up. Same turkey, just dressed up to make it look more innocent.

It would be nice if Obama would put the half nelson on Boehner/Cantor and say: you want to 'sustain' forces abroad, you don't wanna cut defense? Then fund it with a tax millionaires you two bit lying blowhards!
