    Tumultuous Times

I do realize there is alot of projection here, which you guys have accused me of alot here. Nevertheless, take a peek at these newspaper headlines and imagine, for a second, the serious anxiety and horror one would have of being stuck on a tiny island - Guam - of 180,000 people in the middle of the Pacific that could very well become subject of a nuclear attack:

    It gets more intense:

TODAY: In the face of escalating threats from North Korea, the island's archbishop is dedicating the 9:30 a.m. Mass today at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica to world peace.

The regular 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at the Cathedral-Basilica will be a Mass of Peace celebrated by Archbishop Anthony Apuron.

During the Mass, the archbishop will include prayers of intention for world peace, particularly with North Korea, as well as for the safety, security and protection of the people on Guam, the United States and all people on earth.

"The archbishop asks all pastors of the archdiocese to include Mass of intentions and the same prayers of intention for peace at their Masses," according to a press release from the Archdiocese of Agana. "Archbishop Anthony also called for all people to pray fervently and move closer to God during these times and always."

The tension on that island is really very, very real - tattoo model and radio DJ Kai Kai had to send a serious warning to all her friends on Facebook that this update, which was written by some stooge and posited as the genuine article from the aforementioned newspaper Pacific Daily News, wasn't real:

"BREAKING NEWS: North Korea launched multiple missiles targeted at Guam and Hawaii. Please be advise to stay indoors."

Whatever is afflicting and tormenting today's society and causing such mass tension, it really is invading everywhere and in every single part of our country.

Additional - Here's another picture that may illustrate the atmosphere of tension Guam residents are experiencing - it really seems like something from the Cold War:

Correction: Guam's current estimated population is 180,000.
