Wait, wut?
According to financial writer Tom Kostigen, the editor at large of Private Wealth and Financial Advisor magazines, Ferguson made two startling suggestions about Keynes at the Tenth Annual Altegris Conference in Carlsbad, California:
- Keynes' economic philosophy, Ferguson reportedly suggested, was the result of Keynes not caring about future generations.
- Keynes didn't care about future generations, Ferguson reportedly suggested, because Keynes was gay and did not have children.

That was a quick apology. Harvard must be reeling in their conservative staff. Making a statement like that only shows how far this thinking is from reality. Keynes had a successful family life with a pretty ballet dancer whom he adored. She miscarried so there was never any children. Even though he had love relations early in his life with other men, his life with his wife was stable and happy. This was a petty statement from Ferguson and is no basis in fact just pure homophobic. In the Book by Virginia Woolf titled "Mrs. Dalloway" (1925), Keynes wife is the inspiration for the main character. That novel is still regarded as a great classic to read.
