Very skeptical of almost everything in that article.
At the very least, Verizon handing all its call data to the NSA was what started the latest outrage - how is the Vodafone UK ownership supposed to make us feel ok? (and by the way, note that the US-UK alliance has let them do 2-step tangos to let a foreign entity tap Americans so that Americans didn't have to do it. Blame the other guy is just one of the techniques at play here)
Merkel's in deep shit in Germany - but isn't it because either they were deceived easily by Americans or complicit? So we think T-Mobile won't cooperate? They have 10% of the US market and just launched Apple iPhone and they haven't shown market growth since 2009 but now are growing, plus they've invested billions in their new LTE data net - they're desperate to succeed - the last thing they'll do is get in a war with US intelligence, no?
