Defying Congress, Trump vows Supreme Court fight over any impeachment
“If the partisan Dems ever tried to Impeach, I would first head to the U.S. Supreme Court,” the Republican president, who is seeking re-election next year, wrote on Twitter, without offering details about what legal action he envisioned.
Maybe it would be a good idea? Push him over the edge, although isn't he already way over the edge?

This one floors me - amongst so many strange statements, perhaps Trump's most bizarre statement yet. No, the Supreme Court is not his personal guard, and I'm pretty sure *none* if them are so far gone as to believe they are.

Reminiscent of his advice to May, "The EU? Take my word and just sue them!"

Within the context of the full half-day of tweets, which I have pasted below, that tweet just seems average. It was actually not easy to pick it out. It's simply another morning of ranting all his fantasies and greatest hits with the fans, just blowing off steam:
Last one was a hoot--Larry Johnson--once an acquaintance of Josh Marshall, who gave him a regular blog @ TPMCafe, until he showed his wack Trump-like tendencies. Very Trump like behavior with the commenters, I recall.

He's a victim, victim, victim, in solidarity with all his fans who are innocent victims of the elites and the rigged system, except he has the power to fight back for them, fighting back against the man, gonna right the wrongs:

Always to keep in mind: as president or not, he and his diehard fans are not going away until he dies. To me, this is the highest and best argument for voting him out of office as imposed to premature removal from office.

Trump’s Twitter Problem? He Has Less Followers Than Obama
The president met with CEO Jack Dorsey on Tuesday to discuss … why his metrics aren’t better
@ Mashable.com, April 24.
I had already seen the news on this that said bitched about losing yuge numbers of followers when Twitter deleted the bots. But this is the first I've seen anyone point out what may be the crucial angle: less than Obama.
Which made me think how almost all his bitter tweetstorms, they are not just doing the victim/persecution thing, they always include: I did this, I am doing that, I am the greatest president evah and I don't get no respect for it. For this Rodney Dangerfield, respect = ratings. Note any bashing of another person or entity, it is almost always about how they are causing themselves lousy ratings because of what they do or how they are.
Thinking of it this way, makes more sense where I've seen leaks from White House aides who insist that he's not angry, not on a tear, when we see these tweetstorms, I have a tendency now to believe that. It's more like he's cackling while he's doing it, which is exactly how I've envisioned the true internet trolls I got to know personally in the past. They just really enjoy riling people and becoming famous doing it, i.e., causing fights that get "ratings."
I think it may a good idea to remember how shallow a person we are dealing with here. He probably doesn't have a lot of the motives we attribute, the things he did and does may not involve the kind of breaking moral codes for motive that a normal crook or con man would simply because: he's not even that sophisticated, but truly very shallow and dumb in many ways and focused only on a few things. And yes, that fighting is something he likes to see and do. (Liked pro wrestling! Liked beauty pageants where there was competition on a very simple ratings scale. Cheats at golf. Etc.)

Interesting that the #1 most popular story @ Politico.com right now seems to be a version of "let's enjoy schaudenfreude while we watch him hang himself"?
LEGAL: ‘This is risky’: Trump’s thirst for Mueller revenge could land him in trouble
Team Trump’s bellicose rhetoric could expose the president to fresh charges of witness intimidation and obstruction of justice.

I note this story was published before this morning's presidential tweets!

He's not going to hang himself. Only the republicans in the senate can hang him and so far far too few of them are willing to hold him accountable for his actions.

Dems may get access to Trump's dry cleaning bills, most other requests will be rejected by Roberts court in October, 2020.
It's looking like 16 months of impeachment hearings, with impeachment 1 week before election day may be the best strategy. Gotta play hardball.
by NCD on Thu, 04/25/2019 - 12:36am
That might be enough. Everything he does is a scam. He probably was getting his dry cleaning bills paid through his charitable foundation or some such nonsense.

"Impeachment voided by Roberts court!" "Unprecedented judgment! Trump claims exoneration!"
Majority opinion said as there was no dry cleaning in 1782, the Founders text could not have meant that as an area Congress could deem as an impeachable offense."

Founders may have appreciated your dry humor. Gotta droll with the punches.

Rick Wilson has some interesting thoughts on the latest developments as an expert on Trump and GOP political ops:

Interesting that this was retweeted by David Frum, it is Jeff Goldberg recommending an Atlantic piece which stresses the foreign interference angle:
At first I thought: kind of ironic for those sympathetic to neo-conservatism with its interventionism. But then I thought again: the whole idea of: neo-conservative theory was originally supporting interventions to promote democracies
by artappraiser on Thu, 04/25/2019 - 4:58am
Good point here @ NYTimes; as he flip flops on everything else, why not this? You've got to shake up your narratives to keep the yuge ratings:
Victor or Victim? Trump Shifts Response to Mueller Report
Mr. Trump once welcomed the report as “total exoneration.” Now he calls it a “hit job,” vowing today to resist related subpoenas by Democrats.

George Conway lashes out at 'Deranged Donald' on Twitter @ TheHill.com - 04/25/19 07:33 AM EDT
Including starting the hashtag #DerangedDonald which is currently #2 on "United States trends" on Twitter, after #Biden at #1. So really catching on, lots of peeps contributing...

That #DerangedDonald is still trending, comes to mind that this is definitely a twofer for George. He is proving himself much more adept at modern spinmeistering and meme spreading than wifey!
