Highly recommended read, I keep thinking about what I read in it. They've been hoist on their own petard of keeping a huge immigrant work force as non-citizens. Much more likely to have been infected by servants than by travel. And the servants are probably dying now and they're waking up to the fact that they got to give them health care or there won't be any.

I would disagree that the relevance is limited.Relevance level is high when it comes to the spread of Wahhabist attitudes. Who do you think trained most Pakistani clerics and paid for their mosques?
