The plaintive assertion at the five o'clock follies that "of course we cannot test at (fill in the blank) capacity " is perplexing..
I'd have to do the math, but it seems to me that the EPA values a life at round 8 million dollars (which is to say less than the liver his or herself is likely to posit). Add in the multiple trillions of dollars circling the drain in foregone business activity, and using the useful comparison of South Korea, why the fuck is this preposterous confession of incompetence permitted to stand?
Surely it is merely a matter of resource allocation at this point (now that we have passed the hurdle of willful blindness...).
