I just *learned that when John Wilkes Booth heard Lincoln proposing extending the vote to the formerly enslaved he was so enraged that he unsuccessfully lobbied the guy standing next to him to shoot Lincoln on the spot.
Four days later he went to Ford's Theatre.
That's the kind of rage you would think Trump is inspiring...
