This is certainly the age of superheroes. I say this as I pay close attention to Hellboy (Heracles) cutting off the arms (heads) of the monster (hydra). You see these 'creatures' are not created ex nihilo.
Superman, Xmen, Spiderman, Batman, Batgirl.....the list just goes on and on. With the special effects and everything the films almost match the art, the beauty of the comic book.
In the REAL WORLD rather than the REEL WORLD there are ubermenches and they are all evil. But even evil has beauty, great beauty if you look hard enough.

Cheney is really something to behold. Never claimed any
goodness. Not really. Always on the dark side of the force.
Never even attempted to hide his true agenda; I mean even Strom voted for MLK's holiday for chrissakes. Cheney did not even consider it. Take a look at his voting record in Congress sometime. I mean it demonstrates flat out evil.
And his speeches demonstrate no hesitation whatsoever. KILL THEM ALL I SAY. KILL THEM OVER THERE RATHER THAN OVER HERE.
And his countenance. When he permits an interview it is usually with some other fascist like Chrissy W. on Fox, he responds in a passive aggressive manner. He states simply and softly words that would lead anyone to believe that President Obama does not just permit terrorists to go on about their business but that, in the end, Obama is a terrorist.
And he does it all with that snarl.
Cheney is certainly capable of breaking out from his public persona. Witness his heated 'FUCK YOU' shouted at Senator Leahy who had the absolute gall to question the tens of billions of dollars awarded to the Vice President's own company after Cheney had created the war and therefore the need for the masters of war in the first place. How dare Senator Leahy question the man's honor when he never had any honor in the first place. ha.
George W. Bush, of course was just a puppet used by Darth Vader and the corporate oligarchy for their own ends.
During a meeting with w's first Secretary of the Treasury, O'Neill was lobbying against a second tax cut for the rich.
'Yeah, Dick, why do we need to give more to the rich?"
"BECAUSE WE WON MR. PRESIDENT" responded Vader.
He barely counts as a Great Villain since he never had the brains to pull it off. But his comic character does come off more comedic in the midst of the true tragedy of an administration named after him.
And I have had the opportunity of watching David Addington, chief advisor to Cheney and chief of staff after Libby took his leave of absence. This guy is just a joy to behold.
As Dick Cheney's chief of staff, Addington appeared before a U.S. House panel, revealing little about the administration's actions shrouded in secrecy.
Now Addington provided a real contrast to many of the sniveling witnesses from Bush's Administration. I mean Gonzo was forgetful. The blond from JCU kept telling everyone she did not mean to do bad things but she might have done some bad things. Like ask all job seekers their religious thoughts, their views on abortion.....blah blah blah.
In comes Addington. WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT was his question to the various panels. ha!!
David Addington verbally parried with members of a House Judiciary Committee subcommittee seeking information about torture and whether breaking the law was justified, among other things, The Washington Post reported Friday.
When asked whether the president could ever justify breaking the law, Addington said, "I'm not going to answer a legal opinion on every imaginable set of facts any human being could think of."
Addington told the panel he wasn't going to "render legal advice" on whether it was legal to torture a detainee's child.
Quizzed about a Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, interrogation he witnessed, Addington said, "You could look and see mouths moving. I infer that there was communication going on."
Rep. Bill Delahunt, D-Mass., the last questioner, asked about waterboarding, an interrogation technique simulating drowning and condemned by human rights groups and others as torture.
"I can't talk to you -- al-Qaida may watch these meetings," Addington told the representative.
"I'm glad they finally have a chance to see you, Mr. Addington," Delahunt responded.

But John Bolton, he is a real work of art. This man WAS MADE OUR CHIEF AMBASSADOR TO THE UNITED NATIONS.
This entire post came to me as a product of our own TPM article on the new satan.
"Negotiations have failed, and so too have sanctions...So we're at a very unhappy point -- a very unhappy point -- where unless Israel is prepared to use nuclear weapons against Iran's program, Iran will have nuclear weapons in the very near future," he said.
In other words, the way to avert the danger of a nuclear attack is to launch a nuclear attack.
And know this. John Bolton is no outlier. Like Feith, Perle, Kristol and Krauthammer, he is at the heart and soul of neoconservatism.Give him credit. He says what neocons think. It's war they want, even nuclear. Anything to stop nuclear proliferation!
Will Bolton get his war? Not likely. But Luban explains what he's really up to. "It is nothing new for Bolton and his neoconservative allies to threaten an Israeli strike against Iran. But Bolton's use of the "n-word" is, I believe, new for him, and marks a significant rhetorical escalation from the hawks. An Israeli strike, nuclear or otherwise, without U.S. permission remains unlikely. But as it often the case, I suspect that Bolton's intention is less to give an accurate description of reality than it is to stake out positions extreme enough to shift the boundaries of debate as a whole to the right."
In other words, nuclear war is only Bolton's dream -- something to hope for but not really expect to get.

This man would actually relish an atomic war. All these villains of course would relish an attack upon this nation by terrorists. But I think, except for maybe Addington and Vader, no one really hopes for nuclear war. Here are some of this man's quotes:
There's no such thing as the United Nations. If the U.N. secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference.
We estimate that once Iraq acquires fissile material - whether from a foreign source or by securing the materials to build an indigenous fissile material capability - it could fabricate a nuclear weapon within one year
Iraq, despite UN sanctions, maintains an aggressive program to rebuild the infrastructure for its nuclear, chemical, biological, and missile programs. In each instance, Iraq's procurement agents are actively working to obtain both weapons-specific and dual-use materials and technologies critical to their rebuilding and expansion efforts, using front companies and whatever illicit means are at hand.
"Many Republicans in Congress - and perhaps a majority - not only do not care about losing the General Assembly vote but actually see it as a "make my day" outcome. Indeed, once the vote is lost, and the adverse consequences predicted by the U.N.'s supporters begin to occur, this will simply provide further evidence to many why nothing more should be paid to the U.N. system.
...the U.S. believes Cuba has a developmental, offensive biological warfare program and is providing assistance to other rogue state programs.
And Bolton has fewer problems with loyalty than Addington:
WASHINGTON -- The apparent escalation of Iran's nuclear weapons program is the result of President Obama readily following the Bush administration's failed foreign policies while focusing on health care reform, former United Nations Ambassador John R. Bolton said Monday.
"While we've been fiddling around, Iran has been making progress," Bolton said hours after Iran reported the successful launching of longer-range missiles -- the third round of missile tests in two days.
Obama "just doesn't think foreign policy and national security is as important as domestic issues," Bolton said on a radio show.
The test launches follow the United States and its allies disclosing Friday that Iran has secretly been developing a uranium enrichment facility.
Bolton disagreed with the opinion that Obama gained credibility by vowing the West would impose tougher economic sanctions if Iran fails to open the site to international inspections.
"The logic on that is exactly backward," he said. "That argument requires you to say: If Iran had destroyed a Western city, the sanctions would be overwhelming."
Bolton said the administration's foreign policy follows President George W. Bush's failed policy in his last six years "and by extension and elaboration has failed badly as wel

The Riddler is Karl Rove of course.
Remember, no good comic book villains arise ex nihilo
