Another one (Obama nominee) bites the dust?

All alleged misconduct right now, but it appears Obama auto czar nominee Steve Rattner could be in some big trouble due to a potential NY pension kickback scandal related to the private equity firm Rattner ran. Some really damaging allegations in here, most notably an inexplicable investment in a DVD distribution plan.

At this point, I think it's fair to say the Obama vetting team did not do its job. Too many failures to be brushed off.

The problem may not be with the vetting itself. Maybe they used up all the honest CEOs in their first round of appointments.

I admit to being completely flabbergasted and this constant problem. I wonder how much is tied to the ever growing supply of information.

I would bet just as many other problems occurred with other administrations, but it was either ignored/not reported or the appointees got the job and the past became inconsequential.

Regardless - this administration is a fricken mess on the appointee front.

    I blame Twitter.

Flabbergasted is a good word for it. But the good news is that we won't be going back to those days of little to no information, so the really bad people (yes, Dick Cheney, I'm talking to you) are less likely to rise in the ranks. Either that or they'll just get more diabolically careful.

The way I see it, all Americans are corrupt.

    Except maybe Genghis.

    No, I'm totally corrupt.

Well, I thought he had a good staff going there-- until they all got, uh let's say, tweeted?? I wouldn't blame twitter but the watchdog sites.
