    Delay Won't Seek Re-election

    Former House Minority Leader Tom Delay will announce tomorrow that he will not be seeking re-election. There is a April 3 New York Times article about the decision. But even more interesting is the Knight Ridder article, published today, which says that the corruption scandal is inching closer to DeLay himself. Tony Rudy, Delay's former deputy chief of staff, didn't implicate him when he pleaded guilty last Friday in the case which involved Abramoff.

     

    Still, Naomi Seligman, deputy director of the liberal group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington had this to say: "This is a line of falling dominoes, and it's getting closer to DeLay - the investigation is within his inner circle now."

     

    It will be interesting to see how much of an effect this may have on the fall elections.
