Sandy P. Woodchuck was taken into custody in Montpelier, Vermont late Friday night.
The Chief of Police, Sam Facteau, told reporters."He's being held under a Federal Sedition Statute" but mostly it's for his own safety. Since his You Tube post last week we got rednecks coming in here from all over the effing country. Not even in leaf peeping season have I seen this many out of state licenses--we're out of fuel, country store shelves are empty, people are sleeping in their pick-up trucks.
Woodchuck owns his own construction company and is well known for his Yankee ingenuity. He raises catfish in an old swimming pool, runs a "save your clunker" clinic on Saturday mornings and has outfitted most of the town with plastic windows. Woodchuck buys plastic carpet runners at Walmart, salvages wood from pallets, and turns out a storm window in fifteen minutes for $4.95.
Woodchuck's employees had a good year building a round-about at the intersection of Sate and Main in Montpelier but they still were outspoken against their boss for supporting OBama. Daryl Dentcan said, "That Obama is gonna come up here with his kind and take our guns away".
When Woodchuck expressed his support for Obama on YouTube last week it pretty much started the second civil war. Glenn Beck said on Fox News "In this climate of fear, it is dangerous and seditious to show open support for Obama. We have reached the breaking point".
Woodchuck, interviewed in his jail cell, said, "In Retrospect I may have gone too far. I never envisioned these rednecks being able to find Vermont. On You Tube he had panned his front yard bill board which read, "I SUPPORT OBAMA" and then described how well his construction company was doing. And then looking directly into the camera he said. "Those f#cking rednecks from Missouri and Arkansas want to take this country back to the days of George f&cking Bush".

Thanks, Beetle. I fully expect this new band of saboteurs to try something akin to forming a new un-American Activities Sub-Committee in the House.

Where's the 'too far' video? Putting someone is jail for their own saftey is bullshit. That's one of the reasons the judge gave for jailing Assange without charges...

I don't know what kind of accomodations Assange has, but Woodchuck is being well fed, the jail being the back room of the Sleepy Time restaurant and Sam Facteau being the proprietor of both.
Update. Saturday morning while Wookchuck languished in jail, Bernie Sanders was carried down State St. on the shoulders of a large lumberjack to cheering townspeople. Furtive men from "away" gathered in mutinous groups along the parade route plotting an attack on the Sleepy Time restauarant--not knowing that Sam had em all the way cause the strangers went around saying "VER'mont".

That's what I'm saying. Throwing someone in jail for his own safety just because he supports Obama is, like Stardust said, its bull shit!
