    Only In America...

    Only in America...

Obama is an amazing candidate. There are so many reasons to vote for him that listing them would take up way more space than I should take up, and besides, you know them all already.

McCain is a senile old fool that just looks more ridiculous every day. The only reason he is the nominee is because the Republican brand is so damaged that he is their ONLY chance to win. The mere fact that he can be taken seriously is an outrage.

Biden has credentials up the wazoo...love him or hate him, he could step in in a heartbeat and do the job.

Palin is a lightweight. PC be damned, if she didn't have a va-jay-jay and a beautiful face we STILL wouldn't know who she is, because no rational person would pick a running mate with her resume w/o getting laughed off the political stage (see senile old fool above.) "Uh, exactly what is it a VP does?" The fact that she doesn't realize she is not ready to be President is reason enough to doubt her intelligence.

And yet here we sit,  40 something % on one side, 40 something % on the other (and many of those are only on this side beacause they are so ill informed that they think Obama has a $4 million house and may be a Muslim) and roughly 15% give or take of people who care so little that they haven't even been paying attention yet will be making the decision of who will be our next President.

And all the while, the msm, the institution that is supposed to be shining the light of truth on the situation so we can make educated decisions when we vote, sits back and stirs the pot for the sake of ratings.

This sounds more like a late night comedy sketch than the real life political landscape. I would be laughing except that my grandchilren's future is no laughing matter.

It would probably be better for my mental health if I just turned off the computer and the T.V. and went about my life. I could enjoy my grandchildren, work in my garden, decorate my house, cook, clean and care for my family's well being. I could drink iced tea and visit with friends, read a celeb rag mag, get a pedicure, spend a little money on things I don't need.

    So, why don't I?

Well, I'm still idealistic. I still believe that evidence to the contrary, if people just realize what is at stake, if they think about what they are doing to our country's future, if they listen with an open mind, if they quit drinking the damn kool aid, they might make an informed choice. So, I have to keep trying. I have to stay informed, I have to hope that my voice might help somehow.

In the meantime I'm making myself frickin' crazy...How about you?
