    THREE LEGGED DOGS

    3 Legged
 Dog

A three-legged dog is a survivor. A tough, sure sign that life is difficult. Yet sometimes, leaping for a frisbee or bristling at the sight of a cat, he will become graceful, his fourth leg magically visible as he is whole again. The poems of Don Caswell do just that - they create the phantom limb that makes us see the world not only as it is, but as it might be. They take the ordinary, even the ludicrous, and give it the grace of new perspective. --

                                                                                                        Judith Kitchen

Q tells this wonderful story. I mean he tells so many wonderful stories. Quinn is the quintessential member of our little Café.  After a few months the Q-stories sometimes resound so that they become OUR stories.

(Check out his blog site here:  http://quinntheeskimo.posterous.com/   Just as an aside, Q highlights a picture of a sink hole in Guatemala City that is terrifying)

Quinn talks about a dog from his youth and the poor dog lost a leg somewhere along the way. Three legged dogs it turns out are not that anomalous. Ever so often you see three legged dogs on the Animal Channel or in some movie.

Anyway, this three legged dog would follow Q to the bus stop. And after awhile, the dog would lay right in front of the school bus, hoping against hope that the bus would not take his friend away.

I mean, how can you take the position that dogs do not have souls after you hear a story like that? Hahahahah

    Hope against hope.

But what if the three legged dog is attempting to obstruct progress with an evil animus?

What happens when you're a small government, pro-business conservative and you're state gets pummeled by one of the worst man made disasters ever - not five years after getting pummeled by one of the worst natural disasters (Hurricane Katrina)? If you're Louisiana Senator David Vitter, you double down on offshore drilling and push for a liability cap for BP.   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/01/david-vitter-goes-to-bat_n_596497.html

I watched this son of a bitch castigate my president on television the other day. All these pols are stepping up to the platform supposedly in solidarity for all those affected or about to be affected by the oil pricks.

And now he 'doubles down' for more offshore drilling and for less liability on the part of British Petroleum.

Vitter, if you recall, likes call services. Not like when you call for a plumber to clean out your septic tank; but when you get that 'itch' and call for sexual services from a company sponsoring prostitution.

A phone number for Sen. David Vitter, R-La., appears at least five times in the billing records of what federal authorities say was a Washington call-girl operation, the first just four months after he was sworn in to the U.S. House in 1999 and the last on Mardi Gras of 2001.

Under pressure earlier this week, Vitter acknowledged committing a "very serious sin" and that his number showed up in the records of Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who has come to be known as the "Washington, D.C. Madam"

You all recall that the three legged dog Larry Craig was summarily shunned by his 'brothers' in the Senate as well as many other repubs after pleading guilty to what amounts to be a petty misdemeanor in Mpls a little while ago. (If the fine is low enough in Minnesota and you are not sentenced to jail time, it becomes a petty misdemeanor, not a misdemeanor--which is not a crime under Minnesota Law.)

But even though repubs seem to hate 'homos' they are not that much against c%$#suckers.

The Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) is continuing today in New Orleans, with speakers such as Rick Santorum, Michael Steele, and Haley Barbour taking the podium. SRLC organizers noted that the conference was "going to be highlighted by the bold and dynamic values and individuals that make our party what it is." In selecting the individuals who "make our party what it is," SRLC chose Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) to kick off today's events. Vitter, of course, is known for frequenting a Washington, D.C. and New Orleans prostitution service. The married father of four has led Senate efforts to pass a "Marriage Protection Amendment" and bring down ACORN. Today, right-wing activists rewarded Vitter with a standing ovation. Vitter thanked the crowd for the "warm welcome." Watch it  http://thinkprogress.org/2010/04/10/vitter-srlc-applause/

Well, this three legged dog refused to see his handicap. I mean Vitter was seen shortly after the revelation espousing family values once again on the Senate floor.

THIS SON OF A BITCH WILL NOT GO AWAY!!!

Like Q's puppy, Vitter refuses to see himself short one limb. Maybe because he is so proud of what once was his fifth limb.

So now Vitter decides he will attack My President from the wetlands and praise BP.  Here is one of Vitter's news letters:

That would make offshore drilling safer, smarter and more reliable, but not extinct.

Some in Washington have tried to seize on this real human tragedy in the gulf to advocate for a radical new energy agenda. That only cheapens the loss of those who've lost loved ones and brushes aside the ongoing, unsolved problem to spring forward with an emotionally charged political agenda.

That's wrong and, frankly, an example of bankrupt leadership.

...That's why domestic energy production is critical to free ourselves from foreign energy sources and should provide a bridge toward that more renewable, cleaner future.

I believe Americans understand that, even in the midst of this tragedy. And I know Louisianians do. Thank you.

OIL HAPPENS. SHITE HAPPENS. What is a mother to do?

I mean, what do I know sitting here in my pajamas sucking on home made cigs?

Palin, on the other hand, came up with her own spin to defend her stance on drill baby drill:

Last night, former half-term Alaska governor Sarah Palin believed she'd found a way to both absolve her oil-happy politics and blame environmentalists for the spill at the same time, and took to Twitter to rub it in.

"Extreme Greenies:see now why we push"drill, baby, drill"of known reserves&promising finds in safe onshore places like ANWR? Now do you get it?"  http://tpmdc.

Of course Sarah has six limbs and a tail.

I don't think Americans will countenance these lies anymore. I cannot believe that Louisianians will either.

But as of six weeks ago, the son of a bitch had five mill in his campaign war chest having garnered twice that much in the last five years. htpmdc

I wonder where that money came from? Energy bastards gave Vitter a lot of money.

I have been wrong before. I mean almost four years before I ever came to Café, George W. Bush, the single worst president in at least a century was reelected.

Vitter has no soul; none at all. If that poor assaulted state cannot see that, then they will get what they deserve.

But I think this three legged dog is going to be run over by the bus of sanity.

    LET US PRAY.

    P.S.

Rep. Charlie Melancon is the man running against David Vitter. Charlie was the Congressman visibly upset about the recent catastrophic spill. http://thedemocraticdaily.com/2010/05/31/bp-disaster-spills-into-cajun-politics-as-carville-pitches-melancon-for-senate/

October 2009: Vitter had 47.6 percent to Melancon's 35.8 percent, with 16.6 percent undecided, according to the survey conducted last week by Southern Media and Opinion Research. October 2009. http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2009/10/new_poll_shows_vitter_leads_me.html

April 2010: The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Louisiana shows Vitter now receiving 52% support to Melancon's 36%. Only four percent (4%) prefer another candidate in this match-up, while eight percent (8%) are undecided.   April 2010.  (Of course this is Rasmussen which is only a repub front at best)

Now since the spill my google searches demonstrate that the strength of Vitter's lead has shrunk to ten points--48-38. I even find Vitter's approval rating lower than his disapproval rating. The problem is that when I click the google links I fail to find the information advertised. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=david+vitter+polls&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGLL_enUS381US381&ie=UTF-8

I mean google sends me to TPMDC and there is no information on this at the page indicated. I was also sent to John McGinnis's site but the advertised poll is not there either. http://www.lapolitics.com/index.php

If you are one of our richest Café members, send Representative Melancon some dough. He is a blue dog, but for Christ's sakes, this situation underlines why we must choose blue dogs over corporate lackeys.  http://www.charliemelancon.com/home
