Pete Seeger
MY FAVORITE COMMIE!!!
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

Where is our season for peace?
When is our time for peace?
Why has God lied to us through Ecclesiastics?
All I am asking is to give peace a chance for chrissakes!!
When was the last time we had peace?
The Romans had seven or eight hundred years of constant wars.
Are we nothing but Roman Barbarians?
We will never get out of these wars and the goddamn neocons are screaming for more fronts in our war against Muslim oil eaters.
The end
Well it never ends, that is my point!

ADDENDUM
I am just to exhausted over this issue to debate the value of war any longer. But Greenwald does a pretty good job in a short piece at Salon:

Who doesn't love Pete Seeger? Seeing him perform at Obama's Inauguration was enough to move me to tears.
"War is war and will not end,
Strife will always garments rend,
Though you wish and hope with all your might,
Tis only Love can make things right."

I was watching these folk singers perform; tapes from the old days and older days.
I do not even wish to debate war any more.
I just wish it would end. I do not see where we are helping anyone to anything; except for the defense contractors of course!

Well that was fun Resistance.
I forgot about Cat; let us get on the Peace Train; all of us.
Al Stewart; damn I really forgot about him.
I am going to go back and listen to some other selections for these two artists.
Thank you!
