Here's this week's heap of haikus:
Her name is Sandy.
She's a goddess of the beach
made with kelp and shells.

---
The wind fills our sails,
we glide 'gainst a golden sky
Sea salt in our hair.

---
My sister sweetly
helps our mom tend some flowers,
nineteen forty-nine.
---
When it comes to a
thermos nuclear war, it's
bring your own lunch box.
---
The most courageous
words ever spoken, must be,
'So ... let us go on.'
---
Good to remember -
Most great civilizations
have risen from swamps.
---
My Siamese cat
sits at the window, and stares
at distant mountains.
---
Catastrophic muck,
Mercury's in retrograde ...
Cosmic forces ... arrggghhh!
---
tanka haiku:
Where there is no path,
I will make one. Where no-one
knows, I will explain.
One step begins the journey.
Some journeys take a lifetime.
---
tanka haiku:
There is a sad fear
that's buried deep in our hearts;
that no love will last.
So we pretend Time's not cruel
and pray memories won't fade.
---
Rain evaporates,
the Autumn leaves decompose,
Snow melts. Life goes on.
---
double haiku:
An Irish Setter,
gallops through Riverside Park,
greeting each toddler.
His owner just smiles,
reassuring the nannys,
the dog is friendly.
---
double haiku:
The screen door slams shut.
An angry young man runs to
his car and 'peels out.'
A young girl watches
from the window and prays that
her sadness will mend.
---
A leaf-less tree frames
a lonely farm-house in the
middle of nowhere.
---
Down a country road,
he let his horse lead him home
while his mind wandered.
---
The look in her eyes
was enough to melt his heart ...
and most tupperware.
---
On a moonlit night,
in a cottage near the dell,
at last, he knew love!
---
Skies with quiet clouds,
the boardwalk sparsely peopled,
old folks lost in thought.
---
Maples, Elms and Oaks
burst with yellow, red and orange,
the forest ablaze!
---
In a fitful sleep,
memories long forgotten,
rise to consciousness.
---
Our traffic-clogged streets ...
made worse by double parked trucks
and dumb dog walkers.
---
In the dining room,
a ludicrous spectacle,
sirloin with white wine.
---
Even though he'd won,
his thoughts remained fixated,
on all he had lost.
---
at Josie's front door,
boys stammer and hesitate,
... and beg for a kiss.
---
A tangerine sky.
Clouds that haunt the horizon,
lure me into dusk.

---
Simply looking back,
Well, honestly, what's the point,
If you can't re-write?
---
When she walked away,
I brought my hands to my face,
To hold in my dreams.
---
On her front porch swing,
she would often be courted,
by the boy next door.
---
Ah, the autumn leaves,
that drift gently to the ground,
blanketing the lawn.
---
Piles of raked leaves,
sit in my yard. Should we jump?
What kid can resist?
---
A wind-swept plateau,
where the sky looms large, as in
a John Ford western.
---
Kids were not allowed
in grandfather's library ...
but cats wandered in.
---
What's more exhausting
than having unlimited
opportunities?
---
A split rail fence was
respected in the old West.
But barbed wire helped.
---
Can it really be?
It's National Coffee Day!!*
Do that Java Jive!
( *September 29th )
---
tanka haiku:
The simplicity
of a small bird hopping on
the sidewalk thrills me.
It happily hops, then it
springs into the air and flies!
---
As the earth prepares
to take its winter snooze, the
foliage blushes.
---
Preparing to leave
on vacation will highlight
why you need to go.
---
Autumn in New York,
leaves crackle underfoot as
I stroll through the park.

Comments
Mac showed up just now
She always has me laughing
McCain is the subject
I am having probs
But I am old and decrepit
That is an excuse
We must have excuses
Or else we must plead guilty
And what is the use?
It was hot, eighty
In September, Indian
Summer? The leaves have changed now
Autumn is here now
Red and orange see?
Red and yellow and orange
Death is more than nigh
Anyway, see Mac
And tell me what she
Is talking about right now
I am so afraid
hahahahah

Nice as always. I changed my google theme to a fall woods. That is all the fall I get. It is hot tonight about 80 inside. The air conditioner is in pieces right now. We will have it finished tomorrow. The air conditioner man was not interested in servicing it yesterday. All he wanted to do was sell me a new system for $3600. Charged me $70 to tell me that my fan motor was on it's last legs. Soooo...we are fixing ourselves. Went to the parts store got a new fan motor, condenser and coil cleaner. Just need a hand pump garden sprayer and some sheet medal screws. The compressor still works just pulls 20% amp more then it should but it won't be run much this winter. I have it all figured out how I will pay for it next summer. Sat around and watched you tube all last night on air conditioning repair. Then finally one of my boys said lets do this.

Thanks trkingmomoe!
A warm autumn day ...
confused air conditioners
don't know when to stop.
---
Changing Google themes
is a sure sign that Christmas
isn't far away.

Klondike Barbie knows
the Gettysburg address is
in the Yellow pages.

It is fixed. Had it up and running by 9:30 am. It was so hot none of us could sleep. Went to Home Depot early before the sun came up. They open at 6:30 am. Figured it all out. No one got electrocuted. Even drew a few neighbor's interest in what we were up to. We all got a nice afternoon nap.
Thanks for the poems.
