A Chilly Friday Afternoon at the Haikulodeon

Here's this week's heap of haikus:

    With hearts full of grace,
    and souls generating love
    we shall overcome.

(Thanks to my friend, Jim W. for the Martin Luther King, Jr. quote that inspired this haiku.)

    -----------------------------

    In my solitude,
I can reach inside my self
    and draw out my thoughts.

    ---------------------------------------

    Humor is a salve
that can heal many wounds and
    lift up hearts and souls.

    -----------------------------------------

     If you own a gun,
you've agreed to a world where
    shooting's an option.

    ------------------------------------------

     A dagger as sharp
    as a lover's rebuke has
    not, as yet, been made.

    --------------------------------------------

    Just two things matter
    in the world; laughter and tears;
    So indulge in both.

    --------------------------------------------

    Don't look down on the
    simple joys; they remind us
    to keep looking up.

    --------------------------------------------

     Do you feel the world
    is here for your amusement,
    or you for the world’s?

    ----------------------------------------------

    Blessed are those that
never got sick, for old age
    will be a surprise.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Cynicism is
    easy, Optimism hard.
    The sky is still blue.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    I may meander
through some fields and forests, but
    I’ll find my way home.

    ----------------------------------------------------

     That broken heart might
not be caused by love. Our hearts
    rule many kingdoms.

    ------------------------------------------------------

    I have gone back home
to find dreams I put away
    and search for new hope.

    ---------------------------------------------------

tanka haiku: On a cribbage case
once owned by his father, he
    found an inscription:

"I have been through war and peace,
and still wish to keep playing."

    ---------------------------------------------------

    I did not expect
    to have to expectorate ...
    I don't feel phlegm-ish.

(The only haiku Rembrandt ever wrote ...?)

    --------------------------------------------------------

     Do you entertain
    thoughts beyond your current 'ken',
    or just play 'Barbie?'

    --------------------------------------------------

    See, the problem was,
Love for her was sloppy; it
    spilled onto others.

    --------------------------------------------------

    BusterKeaton-Ku:

    Expressionless face,
dulled eyes, calm demeanor ... What
    kind of clown ARE you?

    ---------------------------------------------------

    You only tease those
    for whom you have affection.
    Otherwise, you're mean.

    -------------------------------------------------------

    When looking up
    Archimedes Palimpsest,
    read between the lines.

    -------------------------------------------------------

    We wince, we shudder,
we bite our lip. We endure.
    Mere pain won’t stop us.

    Comments

You are an interesting guy; no doubt about it.

Lost loves. I gave up on lost loves except for the children the love bore! ha

I do not know if this fits in. I wrote it in anticipation? You have me hooked on this damn Asian model. I never 'got' iambic pentameter. hahahah:

    I wish I may, I

Wish I might, at least tonight

    Not be so uptight

    There are many fish

    Who survive comfortably

    In many waters

    Be it brine or fresh

    The water sustains them all

    Survivalists all!

    Some fish just survive

These strange creatures found a way

    To live and to thrive

    Where is the fairness

    In all of this reality?

    The flu shall kill some

    The flu shall kill some

    HIV shall kill others

    Some die, others live

    Why I am not dead?

    And others more superior

    Just lie in their graves?

    I wonder wonder

Who wrote the book of the dead?

    There is no logic

    Splendid, DD!

    Can there be fairness

in a world where there is

    so much random chance?

    There are so many

    possibilities, perhaps

     it's all a crap shoot.

    Mr. Smith,

    I love

    If you own a gun

You've agreed to a world where

    Shooting's an option.

May I use it over on TPM Prime for the discussion?

    Absolutely.  Thanks, Erica. ;-)

I do not know why but you have me laughing!

Mr. Smith is one of those fellows would ever veto such a request.

    hahahaha

    Either would I.

As you see, Mr. Smith agreed.

I have no idea why this got to  me!

I am glad to hear your virtual laughter!

Sadly, the chat turned out not to include opportunities for haiku.

I must say the Dag approach allows so much more human interaction.

When I have some $$$ I will try to help out too.

    This bit; each on each;

    Corralling factors to rhyme;

    Against what is here.

moat, you lost me with this one ... Sorry.

I'm probably just tired, not being purposely dense.

Here's my lame attempt at a response. I'll try to do a better one tomorrow:

    tanka haiku:

    Let's shmooze; haikus
refuse rhyme? They'll chime on time,
    like a temple bell.

That fell to hell, and will fry
    the butterfly that lands well.

    It was too abstruse.

Some thoughts, like dogs kept out back,

    wriggle through the gaps.

    Now that one, I LOVE!
