[....] Cohen, Trump's former lawyer, pleaded guilty Thursday to making false statements to Congress about the Russia investigation in a charge brought by special counsel Robert Mueller.
Cohen had previously said talks about the Moscow project had ended in January 2016 just prior to the Iowa caucuses.
Cohen waived his right to an indictment when he appeared in a New York federal court.
"In truth and in fact, and as Cohen well knew, Cohen's representations about the Moscow Project he made to (House and Senate intelligence committees) were false and misleading," Mueller's office said in a court filing."Cohen made the false statements to ... give the false impression that the Moscow Project ended before 'the Iowa caucus and....the very first primary,' in hopes of limiting the ongoing Russia investigations," the filing adds.
Trump responded to Cohen's admission at the White House Thursday, calling his former lawyer "very weak.""He's a weak person," Trump said before departing for Buenos Aires, Argentina. "He was convicted with a fairly long-term sentence with things unrelated to the Trump Organization," Trump said, citing Cohen's legal issues with mortgages and the IRS [....]

Yep. I was wondering if the Chicago raid provided some 3rd party confirmation of Cohen's testimony - if you look under this rock by this tree... as something incriminating not controlled by Cohen.

What have we learned from this bit of timed stagecraft besides that Mueller's jig is up and that his inquisition is once again back to the nothingburger stand, where it started. We already knew Cohen was a liar and now he admits to being a stupid liar, lying about the Moscow deal that was neither illegal or criminal and would only have been a conflict after the election. Why would the man who said he would take a bullet for Trump lie to congress knowing he would be exposed and face prison time and that the lie was not necessary because there was no crime to cover up?

Sorry, offering Putin a $50 million crib for assisting with hacking his opponent's emails & rigging the election is a far sight short of legal. CRIMES, you dbag. You're excusing crimes - $10s of millions in convictions & plea bargains from Trump's campaign manager, from his deputy campaign manager, from his lawyer of 10+ years, another plea from his National Security Advisor, another plea from his mysterious foreign fixer George Papadopoulos. And now we have stealing an election & conspiracy with a foreign rogue state.
We already know Trump lied about Stormy Daniels & friends & their hush money - a more overt violation of FEC regulations than those that convicted John Edwards. We've seen Trump settle a lawsuit for his scammy fake University, and now he & his kids are being hauled into court over his scammy fake Foundation, along with more bankruptcies of his worldwide money-laundering Trump Towers scams [with partners jackhammering the Trump name off them]. He's overtly violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution.
But you know all this - you just get off on (or are paid to) stick your fingers in your ears & go la la la la. What're you gonna do when Trump & kids go to jail - find a new hobby, or sulk?

What we have learned: someone who believes there is no such thing as truth but only continuous, multiple and self-serving false narratives that serve his narcissism at the moment, and expects an army of surrogates and flunkies to support his delusions of grandeur, is not fit for a position of power of any kind anywhere in the world. And needs to be removed from such a position. (Viz: If he still had a starring role in The Apprentice, rather than the presidency, he would have been fired long ago before he took so many subordinates down. And it is simply due to the pitifully deluded like you that he is still in place.)

I'm not sure what message Maggie received but Roger Stone is not alone among the people caught up in Muller's inquisition who are now exposing his terror tactics and joining the counteroffensive. Mike,Take A Bullet,Cohen, is the only one showing his weakness and willingness to help Mueller create the false narrative he needs to smear Trump.
The staged and timed Cohen/Mueller dog and pony show a few days ago may have exposed more than was obvious. We already knew he was a liar but why would he create the stupid lie about the Moscow tower deal and why was he pursuing that deal long after it had collapsed? These questions bring up more questions about his actions before and treatment after the election. Why was he secretly recording his conversations with Trump and why was his the only plea deal that didn't require a written cooperation agreement? We already know there were paid FBI informants/stooges trying to entrap members of Trump's campaign before the election. It's possible that Cohen was flipped long before he was charged for his crimes and he was the mole trying to earn his get out of jail free card by undermining the Trump organization, for you know who..

You're apparently woefully unobservant. Rick Gates who worked with Manafort and much longer for Trump than Manafort pled guilty, what, a year ago? Mike Flynn pled 1 1/2 years ago? You think Hope Hicks is risking jail to not talk? Reince Priebus? Felix Sater? A lot of canaries in that gold mine. Prolly even Bannon. Oh, and Jeff Sessions, you remember Jeff? bet he's carving Don a new sphincter as I type, 2 years of abuse to atone for... paybacks are hell.

Here's the real plot, Peter and fans like you need to get used to it, as it's been true since the 80's: Everything Trump touches dies. If you happen to agree with many of the things he promotes with his agitprop, you need to find someone else, it's just that simple.
