LobeLog is posting excerpts from the Legislative Round-up published weekly when Congress is in session by the inimitable Lara Friedman, previously of Americans for Peace Now and now the president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace. These weekly round-ups cover what Congress is up to and what individual members are saying, particularly about Israel-Palestine and Iran.

TITLE I — DEPARTMENT OF STATE AND RELATED AGENCY
Broadcasting Board of Governors, international broadcasting operations: Perennial language providing $764,936,000 “to carry out international communication activities, and to make and supervise grants for radio and television broadcasting to the Middle East.”

We can and must afford $764 million for Mideast propaganda broadcasts.
We cannot afford $440 million to fund PBS.
Corporate media and Faux News are better at entertaining and brainwashing the people into subservience than the smug elitists at 'truthy' PBS.

No no no, that's the entire BBG budget including VOA, Radio Free Europe/Asia, Radio Marti, Farda, Radio Sawa... primarily VOA/IBB

I see that I misread. I stand corrected, thanks. But 76kk is still a wad of cash. How much, I wonder falls in the column identifying money spent de-legitimizing RT because it is government sponsored. I hope you can see that this is not an endorsement of RT.

Just go to voanews.org or rferl.org or the other sites and look what theyre publishing. VOA is our BBC for better or worse, and broadcasts in 100 languages or so, which ain't cheap. How they present Trump and the trainwreck congress, I can only guess
