[...]The relentless decline of “The Apprentice” reflects a splash-and-crash cycle that’s been a hallmark throughout Trump’s life—from his buildings to his casinos to even his brief stint as a sports team owner. His initial successes are often followed by reckless decisions to double down on his bet, just to keep the excitement going—with often disastrous results. “It’s true of everything he goes into,” Trump biographer Tim O’Brien said in an interview. “He will hunker down and do something well—and then he thinks he’s Zeus.” And that’s when the trouble starts. “Because he’s not Zeus.”

The phone interview that Trump has on Fox & Friennds needs to be seen in its entirety. Trump has a meltdown. He says he doesn’t watch tv news and then tells us what he sees on tv news. He says that Cohen handled the Stormy Daniels matter after previously denying any knowledge of the situation. He rants about the DOJ and FBI. Trump is unstable.

53shades of insane - hihghlights of a lowlife. Is he trying to 25th Amendment himself? He may have just succeeded, but I dont know if he has enough of a cabinet for a quorum

Cillizza must be a glutton for punishment ... he actually not only read the transcript carefully enough to pull out 53 "shades of insane", but gave it enough thought to narrow it to 53.

Apparently it wasn't a call-in - Trump actually showed up backstage & he did the interview from there. Fox published photos just this morning (once they'd got the stage member's family to a safe space)

The picture is bad enough, but did you really have to edit out the left side of it? My curiosity is getting the better of me.

The Gimp. In these manic moments, Trump never goes anywhere without him.

I think Alexandra Petri's piece posted yesterday @ WaPo is a great effort at drawing a picture of our current situation, the otherworldliness, The Twilight Zone thing: ‘Fox & Friends,’ stuck with Donald Trump for all eternity
