.. his call for executing drug dealers got some of the most enthusiastic cheers of the night. Trump also delivered a profane attack on the news media, calling NBC News anchor Chuck Todd a “sleeping son of a bitch” and deeming CNN “fake as hell,” as the enthusiastic crowd booed at the mention of journalists and chanted “CNN sucks!” (and steel mills are already "back") - “A lot of steel mills are now opening up because of what I did,” the president told the crowd in this conservative district. “Steel is back, and aluminum is back.”
These people do not want socialized health care or free college, they are an depraved mob under the control of a raging insane demagogue.

Yours truly, 2 1/2 days ago:
"The tariff drama may be just another campaign like photo op, a con job. An Adoration Rally applause line."
So quick it comes true, creating raucous cheers by the mob.

President for Life Trump, 2021 Rally: "Should we have public hangings, or firing squads, who wants to be a shooter (loud crescendo of "I do, me")?.....or make them fight each other to death in an arena like the Romans did? You know the Romans were great and had an empire, I like the sound of it..."empire"."

More grist for your mill on his tariffs not really happening that much:
What happens after Trump signs tariffs order @ Politico.com, March 7.

I am in turn going to toot my own horn. Don't forget he's not just gonna MAGA with tariffs and dead drug dealers, for the rest of the world he's got whirled peas planned and if the mainstream media doesn't start broadcasting that he's the only one who could make such a deal, he'll show them.
by artappraiser on Sun, 03/11/2018 - 7:58pm
p.s.I'm kind of enamored of the second link above because in tandem with NCD's points here and also with his reaction on guns and reactions on DACA/immigration et.al., I got a moment of great clarity from this:
What he wants is actually very simple: he wants to do things that no other president has done! He doesn't care what they are as long as they are major changes and he gets all the credit. He doesn't want any political party to get the credit: great mind, great deal maker, one for the history books, like Julius Caesar. Therefore the accusation that a foreign country helped him become president drives him nuts. Ridiculous, look how the emporer Trump slayed all those puny dummies in the primary, and crooked Hillary, look how he stalked and slayed her, see the adoring crowds from inauguration through this very day, why aren't "they" reporting that?
Edit to add P.P.S:. Ran across several articles pointing out that he was not really endorsing any candidate for PA. 18 in his PA speech, only himself. Fits.

From your Politico tariff link:
Nothing Trump or Republicans do is transparent.....except the corruption.
Tariff exemptions will be a huge opportunity for Trump/Republican political patronage, bribes and graft, nationally and with some corrupt foreign companies, governments.

On "the meeting with NK" Jon Chait:
by NCD on Sun, 03/11/2018 - 11:28pm
Yes, that's actually the type of commentary that pissed him off, the Chait type comments about how U.S. presidents don't meet with North Korea, he saw some of those and that's what he was tweeting about. Whether he understands their criticism or not is not clear. He's doing a "loud and proud" claiming of it now is the point. So even if he realizes they are saying it's dumb of him, he disagrees,he thinks anything he does even instinctively without advice, is brilliant, because he's the best evah. And everything would just be fine if they would not only let Trump be Trump, but be amazed and praise.
Among other things that says, to me: he truly doesn't care much about losing advisers. He thinks they are like a dime a dozen, as stupid as the media if they are the type that don't respect his supposed gut level brilliance.

It is best to assume everything Trump does is meant as an applause line for his next "Presidential Reality Show" Adoration Rally.
Ergo, he doesn't need advisors as he knows his Base, and has, as you term it, gut brilliance the advisors and press do not possess in that realm.
Secondarily, for Trump is personal enrichment, political patronage through political contributions or profits for Trump businesses.

"Presidential Reality Show" Adoration Rally.
Most excellent! Sometimes I wonder if you have past experience in broadcast network TV or something, you have this instinctual understanding of that whole world. Let me explain: it is exotic world to me, as even if had wanted to watch it, once I moved to NYC in '83, one couldn't get more than one channel off the air, and one had to have cable if one wanted any tv at all. So of course once you get pay channels, you'd rarely visit what's going on in that old sitcom nor "reality tv" nor "tonight show nor daytime talk world anymore and have to rely on reading about it second hand or from family elsewhere.....

another part of the PA speech that fits the whole "I'm so brilliant" thing:
She's been a favorite for crude attacks from the right for her style, mannerisms and even her hair, but I don't think I've ever seen that one....it's more like the attacks on her personal traits are because they find what she's saying dangerous and they therefore want to redirect to her appearance or manner.
With Trump, instead it's: everyone smart can see that I am brilliant. If they don't think I am brilliant, they are the dumb ones.
Warning next comment is silly pondering of the type most people are sick of: If this severe variety of narcissism is not the result of a flawed gene directing brain development, and one has to go Freudian it must all go back to: daddy's criticisms? Or some bullies at the military academy? Praise praise praise about his brain and talents is the key.Totally explains Melania's on and off adoration switch....

Um believe or not a new one, he's trying to sell an idiot savant thing to Missouri donors:
In fundraising speech, Trump says he made up information in meeting with Justin Trudeau
President Trump boasted that he insisted to the Canadian prime minister that the United States runs a trade deficit with its neighbor to the north. But, he said, “I didn’t even know. ... I had no idea.” The U.S. trade representative's office says the country has a trade surplus, not a deficit, with Canada.
One thing that is the same as usual, though, is the narcissist thing, his presence as a gift to the audience:
by artappraiser on Thu, 03/15/2018 - 2:56am
Trump went on to say, "I used to do that all the time in high school, just make shit up when I didn't know the answer and usually I got away with it because I have a great brain, the greatest brain. But Smarty Pants Trudeau, that's what I call him, Smarty Pants, had to show off by knowing the answer. Poindexter, had to be a know it all"
