Holy shit, I'd be pissed.
I see in the article they have a link with this question:
My answer is: yes, dammit. And makes the law look like ridiculous bureaucratic nonsense using up lots of man hours, make work. Seems like every gallery and art related site I am on has sent a notice out. Hundreds of useless emails I had to delete. They are mostly businesses in the U.S.

Yeah, mostly it just means I ignore & thus am unenrolled from mailing lists I haven't looked at in ages. Good housecleaning, I suppose, but likely doesn't change the data abuse of the real offenders (hear that Facebook?)
