Senator Portman not going to run for re-election, so no longer beholden to please Trumpies, might vote for impeachment:

to me this is just another example of how loyal partisanship sucks:
that actually would not be a "broken party", that's a party that sticks together through thick and thin.

Bill Scher & Sahil Kapur (of NBC news) analyze amongst themselves and speculate on Manchin & Sinema & the nuclear/filibuster & the whole "bipartisan" in Senate thing, what's possible, what's not, and electoral realities (stuff like this is one very special thing about twitter):

Republicans don't have to pass anything to get re-elected. They can run on "We stopped the socialists."

now this definitely suggests the use of "splintering" rather over mere "fracturing":
yes, these kind of things often sort themselves out over time, but for now....

Actually, all things, over time, sort themselves out, every time.

Where are the evangelists? Surely God ordained this. It's all going according to His plan.

P.S. Interesting that Deese already met once with the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus on topic
also that they retweeted that Rep. John Curtis from Provo Utah district just joined the Problem Solvers Caucus
I checked him out, he is a Republican, once was a Democrat in local offices like mayor, and a glance at his Twitter feed shows he is strongly "pro-life" and also very "pro-mask"
