The actual kill count in this attack wasn't in the double digits. Alot more people have been killed by gun violence - inflicted often by Americans, sometimes even accidentally. Maybe it's a little easier for us mentally to point the finger at Muslims as some strange group that will do and think strange things or maybe terrorism is scarier than shootings for some reason? I don't know.
