This is pretty interesting. From what I know it is accurate (with the exception of the statement that Virginia leans Democratic -->. I WISH). I think this is a very good ticket.

Another point I am happy to make is that at least on CNN, they are loving them some Tim Kaine. Finally they approve of something Hillary did. They are positively eating him up! And they are even glad that Hillary seems so happy and relaxed.
Wow! It is great to behold!

Yes, OGD, I think Virginia will be Blue for the Presidential election, but it is in many ways a very red state. The legislature successfully stymied our governor, Terry McAuliffe' multiple and valiant efforts at Medicaid expansion. They challenged his effort to allow felons who have served their sentences the right to vote, and a judge ruled that he could only do it one at a time. He now will personally sign over 2000 documents allowing those people to vote.
Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, and the Christian Regent University Law School stamp out graduates with the goal of taking over local govt, and in the case of Regents, was the "go-to" place for judicial appointments from the Bush Administration.
So, when I said, "I wish" re the state being Blue, I was referring to the stranglehold they have on local politics. The main reason we have a Dem governor (I believe) is that the weasel Ken Cuccinelli was so odious that he got no votes except for dyed in the wool TeaBaggers. I know his cousin, and no one in his family can even stand him. It also didnt help him that Bob McDonald (the previous, Republican governor) was indicted for corruption.

I alluded to this in my long-form post imploring progressives to line up behind Clinton but to reiterate Terry McAuliffe has been a strong progressive governor for Virginia despite the unfortunately successful efforts of the Republican legislature to stymie his agenda. Had Old Dominion progressives reject McAuliffe because of his problematic history, they would be much worse off than they are now.

Hal, I agree. I voted for him but without enthusiasm. Although he is pro-pipeline, which upsets many Progressives, he has been a very good, positive and progressive governor IMO. I have been surprised at what an excellent job he has done despite being hamstrung by the same kind of legislature that Obama had to deal with. He has had to do everything by Executive action, and fortunately he learned that lesson early because in VA governors are term-limited to a four-year stint.

CVille . . .
I had an inkling that the following is what you meant knowing full well how tuned in you are to the national stage and the presidential polling in Virginia . .
My real intention for posting what I did was for others to see what was really happening.
And to stress the following point to everyone.
Get Out the Vote!

Glad to hear that "Get Out The Vote" was your intent. My intent was to let Virginians know that Blue isn't a "done deal" and so we had the same goal --> You absolutely HAVE to vote!
