Kudlow said invading Iraq in 2002 as a “small war” would boost the economy
During the run-up to the Iraq War, Kudlow was an unabashed hawk...
December 2007:“ There’s no recession coming. The pessimistas were wrong. It’s not going to happen....We are in a slow patch. That’s all. It’s nothing to get up in arms about.”
In July 2008, Kudlow said it was a “mental recession, not an actual recession”

@ the Washington Examiner, this hit me as a good explanation of what Wall Street types might be thinking on this. I suspect the serious Wall St. types don't take Kudlow that seriously as an "economist". either He's like the TV goofball who tries to schmooze the public into understanding why it's important to let them do what they want to do. Like this: so he gets it wrong sometimes,so what, he's got the basic sermon we need down.

Kudlow is a good fit. Craven panderer meets insatiable attention seeker.
I don't want to see any tapes.

craven panderer! EXACTLY the words I was looking for! Thank you, moat.
I worked with one once who even looked very like Kudlow. The creepy thing is when you are forced to be in a relationship with one of them who is really really good at pandering, they figure out how pander to you, too. So even though you're pissed at how they get away with pandering to the higher ups (usually instead of actually producing any real work), you find yourself not able to be mad at them in person. Then when you are alone you stew on it: i.e., how the heck does he do it?

Opinion: How Donald Trump is re-emerging as a risk for the stock market
What the ‘good’ Trump giveth, the ‘bad’ Trump may taketh away

....But the recent correction showed the potential downside of the Trump presidency — the reemergence of the “bad” Trump....
