I wanted to repost this post that Artappraiser put up.
In the article, it is mentioned that Mia Khalifa was rooming in a $550 apartment in Miami after becoming world famous.
The porn industry, which was once upon a time seen as empowering by some, completely ripped her off. Despite clearly continuing to distribute her sex tapes, she never got any sort of royalties.
The Bustle article even demonstrates that the pornographers went out of the way to endanger her - putting her up in a hijab when she was in fact raised Catholic.
To me, Khalifa actually represents a generational shift. Khalifa is beautiful and exquisite - BangBros and PornHub treated her like a piece of meat to filtered around a barbecue. If the images seen in the Bustle article are anything like what she has in store for us, this could be a departure back to the "cheesecake" images that our grandparents' generation took part in.
