In court documents, prosecutors working for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, said that violated the terms of Mr. Manafort’s release while he awaits trial. They asked a federal judge to revise those terms or send him to jail until trial.
Prosecutors said that Mr. Manafort tried to contact witnesses by phone, through an intermediary and through an encrypted messaging program. One witness told the F.B.I. that Mr. Manafort was trying to “suborn perjury,” prosecutors said. Two witnesses [....]

My thinking on this is becoming kinda ambivalent now and don't feel like gloating. It's not really good news. Because of the witness tampering, he's really tainted. Everyone is going to disavow him. He's kinda useless as state's evidence? Maybe not in court but in the court of public opinion. It just reinforces the whole "swamp" meme where all DC lobbyists are criminals, there's hundreds more where he came from, so why should we bother with federal government, etc. I usually am on board with cynicism, but at a certain point....

If Manafort does cooperate with the investigation, it probably would lead to new evidence. The prosecution needs a way to verify that they are not just getting a story they are willing to hear. In that regard, Manafort was a tainted possible witness from the beginning. If he is to save himself, he will have to deliver much more than a narrative.
Now there are some who claim he has nothing to give. Rudy suddenly talking about "cleaning matters up" with pardons suggests that Team Trump does not agree.
On to the next scene. I hear rumors that a play will be performed in front of the royalty that features a reenactment of the their original crimes. No gloating will be heard from this ditch until the rotund lobbyist sings.

It's what, exactly, the the Mueller team expects that he can give them is the mystery here, because it has never been worth the effort they've already expended to simply get what they already have. There's something they want from his mouth to confirm what they know ... stay tuned for the performance, indeed.
