After deporting more people than any other President, the Obama administration has decided to review on a 'case by case' basis those who had been brought to the US illegally as babies or children, and who have not otherwise broken the law. This is a step in the direction of implementing the DREAM Act which would allow such persons a path to citizenship. The DREAM ACT was held up by Republicans to throw red meat to their intolerant base, and also to stop anything Obama tried to pass. He has either realized he is President and doesn't need permission slips from John Boehner or Mitch McConnell to do something he believes in, or he doesn't believe in much but getting re-elected, and thought this might help.

Backdoor amnesty; front door hypocrisy
.........First, because going after educated kids who have grown up Americans and now are ready to become productive taxpayers is foolish. While going after criminals makes sense.
Are Obama's critics trying to shore up THEIR political base? Yes.
Scare tactics instead of solutions. That's what gets you elected in places like Arizona.
